Welcome to the FAQ section. Before we begin, a little tip for you; always choose a professional photographer for your photography. The photos – and only the photos – will remain. Before hiring, ask the photographer to show you some examples of complete weddings and not just their portfolio or their best shots.

FAQ
Choose a photographer that you would like to have “around” the whole wedding day; photographers will spend more time with you on that day than anyone else. Choose a professional who will give you a contract, which puts down in ink the services that he/she will offer you.
Look around; there are so many photographers…but not all of them are right for you. It’s important that you choose the right one for you! Do not choose solely based on the economic offer. Putting a price on your memories is to overlook the immense value that they hold.
“If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.”

FAQ
My photographic style is characterized by a strong predominance of reportage, though not exclusively.
With my experience, I will guide you, if necessary, to have the best photographic result without altering your story. The entire photoshoot will be based on the spontaneity of the subjects and on telling the story of the day as it is. During the course of the day, if the spouses agree, we will dedicate a small part of our time (about 20-30 minutes) to a couple's mini-session in order to catch some candid shots of the spouses alone. Remember that the photoshoot cannot be considered a mere assembly of sequential mages but rather the artistic vision and the interpretation of the photographer of the wedding day.
It’s in the concept of reportage itself that we will mainly shoot candid photos of people in spontaneous moments and the real interaction between the subjects; smiles, hugs, dances, moments of complicity. The reportage cannot and must not be anything else. This means that, despite there always being two present and focused photographers covering the event, there is a possibility we may not take pictures of all the guests since not everyone will interact with each other, providing the right moment to catch for the reportage. However, if you would like to keep a memory of all your guests without exception, we can take group photos and family formals that will give you the chance to have at least one shot with each of your guests. Also always bear in mind that we do not know your relationship with your guests, the connections, the friendships and the bonds between you and them. Do not assume that we can guess; tell us who the most important guests are because we cannot identify them without your help. Group photos and family formals are taken only by request of the spouses, so don't forget to ask for them. Remember that we are always there for you and your needs.
Living in Naples means I often work in the Campania region (mostly in Naples, the Amalfi coast, Sorrento coast and in Capri). However, I work all over Italy, travelling for work is not an issue for me.
I work with professional videomakers whom I recommend to the spouses. These are artists that I respect and whose style is in line with my own, personally selected by me to guarantee a certain stylistic coherence between your photos and videos. The spouses are free to rely on this recommendation or to independently search for a videomaker of their choice.
Absolutely yes. I love travelling and getting to know new places and cultures. Photographic services provided outside the Campania region I will incur in extra travel costs, but these will be agreed together with the spouses.
Of course. I think it's really important to get to know each other before hiring. We can meet in my office in the historic centre of Naples or, if you are distant, we can arrange a Skype call.
There isn’t an exact number of shots taken during a photoshoot. The use of digital cameras allows me the maximum creativity and a continuous search for details, situations and events during your wedding day, though always with the utmost discretion. Therefore I will take as many photos as I consider necessary for your story to be told.
I don't set limits, I select and post-produce all the shots that I consider beautiful and/or significant; on average they are never less than 300. Remember that I always prefer to give you one extra photograph rather than one less. However, I will also give you all the shots that I decide to "discard" (and which will therefore not be post-produced) since I appreciate the fact that each image could represent an important moment for you to keep.
By post-production I mean the correction of light and shadows, of any annoying and dominant colors given by particular light sources (where possible), the contrast, the possible addition of a creative and distinctive tone to the photo. It includes the removal of any type of element on the skin that is not a distinctive feature of your person (for example; cheeky pimples that may have appeared on the day but not the removal of permanent marks like moles) ... At my discretion, I could remove dark circles on very tight close-ups. In no way will I provide a photo retouching service that completely overturns your person in accordance with the concept of reportage (tale of the reality).
For weddings, usually between 6 and 8 months. (for an additional cost, you can have the option to choose the "fast delivery" service with delivery within 2 months) Services such as elopement/engagement/maternity/family sessions usually take a couple of weeks, maximum one month, barring unforeseen events.
Sure I will give you all the digital files on a USB stick. You can either rely on me for printing or go ahead autonomously. There will be no contractual obligations of any kind regarding this aspect.
You will find many reviews on www.matrimonio.com and on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pg/SerenaFaraldoPhotographer/reviews/ (mostly in Italian) I also often publish the feedback you send me on Instagram, you will find everything in the stories in highlights (mostly in English).
The cameras I use have a double slot for memory cards, this means that while I'm shooting I'm already keeping a back-up of your photographs. Once back in the studio I will make an extra copy on 2 different HDs. I will give you all the chosen post-produced photos + those I haven't chosen on a USB stick. Upon delivery, I will delete the raw files, but I will keep the JPEG files for 6 months. Therefore I suggest that you make at least 2 backup copies of the delivered material on a USB stick and/or upload the files to online servers such as Dropbox, PrimeCloud etc.
Most likely yes, I will publish them. It is essential for every photographer to be able to share their work online and I am no exception. Your photos could become part of this website or be published on my social networks or on platforms related to my work and my business.
I'll choose. I prefer to personally give the main setting to my work for many years in the profession lends me a more technical eye towards it. I also often shoot with an idea already in mind as to how to use your photos to tell your story. In any case, you will have the last word on the work to be sent in print; before I send any photos to print you will have a chance to look through the files, during which phase you can request any changes.
The reportage is closely linked to what happens; the skill of the photographer lies in anticipating the action and capturing it with his or her own camera. If you're imagining a wedding full of people dancing but then no one dances, if you wish for a wedding full of emotions but your guests spend their time looking at their phone displays, if you'd like your photographs to capture a multitude of looks of complicity but then engage in little eye contact with your husband or wife during the ceremony or if you envisaged beautiful bright shots during your preparation but prepare yourself in a dark, cluttered setting...you certainly can't expect something different in the photos. What I can do is give you some very useful advice (which is up to you to follow or not) here.
Yes. A wedding day lasts 12 hours on average, many of which we photographers spend standing, with heavy equipment and often in very hot weather. Like any other human being, we need to eat and recharge at least once during the day in order to perform at our very best until the end, without compromising our health or draining all our energies. A reduced menu is more than enough for all photo/video staff. We ask, where possible, for accommodation in the same room as the bride and groom, so as to be ready to foresee what is about to happen at any given time. In the event that spouses are not available to provide us with a meal, we will autonomously restore ourselves, moving away from the event location, and returning as soon as we have finished.
There are various offers that I make available to couples. Contact me and I will be glad to give you more information.
You can contact me whenever you want, even up to a month before the wedding. However, I strongly discourage this as you will risk finding me already engaged. So, the sooner you contact me the better. The ideal is to contact me about a year beforehand to have more chance of finding me available. Keep in mind that for professional reasons I do not accept more than one wedding on the same day and more than a certain number of weddings per year in order to never compromise quality in favour of quantity.
I can provide the kind of coverage that you prefer.
I use Canon professional cameras and very bright lenses. I limit the use of flashes or artificial spotlights as much as possible unless there is a very low light environment which makes the use of flash necessary. This professional choice is determined by the need to be as discreet and invisible as possible.
I usually work with a team of professionals I personally choose; people I trust and have worked with for many years. Often the presence of a second support photographer and sometimes an assistant also needs to be considered.
No. By professional choice I only work on one wedding a day, guaranteeing my presence at yours only. In this way, I am able to take care of every aspect from beginning to end.
